Barcelona Honeymoon - City Explore

With our amazing wedding day on our heels, we jetted out of Jamaica the following day for our honeymoon. We only had half a plan and a lot of hope to set out on a mostly unplanned honeymoon. All we knew if that we were going to be away from home for at least 2 weeks.

We were lucky to have the beginning of our honeymoon already planned because we decided to tag along a friend’s 50th birthday trip that started the day after our wedding. This helped jumpstart our European travels with 3 days in Barcelona followed by 4 days in Ibiza.

Bar Muy Buenas

The flight from Jamaica to Barcelona took us around 12 hrs with a layover in NYC’s JFK airport. Of course we stopped into the Delta Sky Club (we get in free with our Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card) to grab a bite to eat and a cocktail for the overnight flight. Unfortunatley our flight was delayed but we still landed in Barcelona in time to get to the kickoff dinner with our friends.

Barcelona, Spain

Night one was a blast. We had local Spanish tapas at Bar Muy Buenas in El Raval. This restaurant was about a 10 minute walk to the Cathedral of Barcelona. We took a quick taxi to Carpe Diem, a bar and restaurant known for their global fare including sushi with a beachfront terrace.

Carpe Diem

We indulged in some craft cocktails and light bites while the music rocked us back and forth. It was a packed house even though the night was still young. The experience at Carpe Diem hit all the senses from the inscense, to the incredible craftsmanship of the decor you are bound to be delighted.

Carpe Diem

It’s incredibly important to be aware of you surroundings in Barcelona. One of our trip mates was pickpocketed on the street resulting in him loosing a considerable amount of cash. Always have zippered pockets and as much as you’d like to strike up conversations with locals, please use discretion.
